Multi-Establishment OSHA Log Guides

OSHA records are kept by establishment, not by company. An establishment is a single physical location where business is conducted or where services or industrial operations are performed. Under 29 CFR 1904.30, you keep a separate OSHA 300 Log for each establishment expected to operate for a year or longer. Short-term establishments, those expected to exist for less than a year, still need records, but you may keep one log covering all of them, or one per division or geographic region.

Ring of buildings linked to a headquarters by raised paths

Records can live at headquarters or another central location if two conditions hold: information about each case reaches the central location within seven calendar days, and the records can be produced and sent back to the establishment within the access deadlines, which are the end of the next business day for employees and four business hours for government representatives.

Every employee must be linked to one establishment for recordkeeping purposes. If someone is hurt at another of your establishments, the case goes on that establishment's log; if they are hurt away from any of your establishments, it goes on the log of the establishment where they normally work. These guides cover new sites, project sites, centralized recordkeeping and franchise locations.

Keep the log, the 301s and the 300A in one place

300log turns each case into its OSHA 300 Log entry and 301 report, keeps privacy cases off the shared log, totals the 300A and files it with OSHA's ITA for you as soon as you authorize it.
